What is Stress?
Are you struggling to deal with everything that life throws at you? Do you feel overwhelmed by the number of things that you have to do? Do you feel that you can’t meet expectations that you place upon yourself, or the expectation of others? Are you dealing with a considerable life change, such as divorce or bereavement? Do you no longer enjoy going to work?
Stress can be defined as: “physical, psychological or social dysfunction resulting in individuals feeling unable to bridge the gap with the requirements or expectations placed upon them”.
A recent study showed that during the previous year, 74% of people have felt so stressed they have been overwhelmed or unable to cope. 51% of adults who felt stressed reported feeling depressed, and 61% reported feeling anxious.
